Redknapp hails “very special” Iron

West Ham fans have diverse views on Felipe Anderson but the ‘experts’ appear to be united in  the view that he really is a very special player.

One his game he is quite fantastic – off it, however, he leaves an awful lot to be desired at times and the game against Spurs was a very good example of that.

There were brilliant moments when he gave the ‘eyes’before a deft pass in the opposite direction and others when he went off on a brilliant run but ignored those in  better positions before firing tamely into the keeper’s arms.

One thing’s for sure however, there’s a lot more to come from the £45 million man and hopefully we will get another taste of it over the last two games of the season against Saints and Watford but in the meantime it’s fair to say that 10 goals from midfield for the season is a good return during his first Premier League season.

One of his big fans it seems however is Jamie Redknapp who talking to Sky Sports Premier League said: “He’s got that quality, a nice yard of pace as well, he can explode past players and he has that lovely Brazilian technique. I think he is a very special player.

“Oh definitely (whether more to come) I just like the way that he plays, they’ve love those players there who can do something special like a Payet and he is that guy.

“They’ve been a bit unlucky with injuries as they’ve lost Yarmolenko, but I think this guy is a top footballer, I love watching him play, he can see a pass.”

  1. I for one rate him and have enjoyed watching him this season. Yes he’s a little unpredictable but he’s got flair and pace to burn. Been one of our better players and (touch wood) doesn’t get injured!!

  2. Completely agree with JR he is by a country mile the most skilful player outside the top six. Hopefully we can hold onto him.
