Redknapp Ravel advice ahead of ‘targets’ meeting

Ravel-Morrison-2Harry Redknapp has sent ‘mixed messages’ on his attitude towards a possible Ravel Morrison signing ahead of a Queens Park Rangers ‘targets’ meeting this week..

ClaretandHugh has learned exclusively that after a planning meeting last week, Redknapp and Loftus Road owner Tony Fernandes will again sit down tomorrow to decide whether Morrison is to be one of their priority signings.
A source told us: “Last week’s meeting was to look at things generally but this week they will be really getting down to identifying key signings.”
The Queens Park Rangers boss, meanwhile,  gave little away on the Morrison scenario admitting he was a big admirer of the player whilst warning him that he has to focus totally on the game!

He said: ‘I think Ravel has got all the ability to play for England, it’s just a case of putting it altogether for him.

‘He’s got to find a way of putting his game together and he’s got to make sure he focuses completely, 100 per cent on his football for the next ten years and if he does that the future is fantastic for him. If he doesn’t, it’s going to be a waste of talent.’

Morrison’s problems at Manchester United and West Ham have been well documented but Redknapp continues to claim he has had no problem with the player.

‘He’s a smashing boy, he’s not a bad lad in any way shape or form, he’s a really lovely boy,’ added the Rangers boss.

He added: “‘He’s an amazing talent so it’ll be a waste if he doesn’t really produce what he’s capable of producing on a more regular basis. If he does that there won’t be many more talented.

‘I watched the Brazilian U20s win the Toulon tournament and everyone was raving about them but there was nothing any of them could do that Ravel Morrison can’t do.’
