Reece Oxford release clause revealed

reece-oxford-west-ham-oxford_3335636German magazine Kicker claim West Ham has a release clause to bring home Reece Oxford in January should they want to.

Kicker says there is a contract clause in which West Ham could end the one-season loan early to bring the 18-year old back to England. The clause could be activated of Oxford does not reach play in one third of available games.

However, Oxford us yet to get a single minute for Borussia Mönchengladbach, making do with a role as an unused substitute against Koln, Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Oxford helped England U20s to a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Italy’s equivalent youth side on Thursday afternoon. The West Ham defender completed 80 minutes for the young Lions in Gorgonzola as they ran out comfortable winners in the international friendly.
Reece Oxford has been nominated for the 2017 Golden Boy award. The 18-year-old, currently on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, has been included in the list of 25 players under the age of 21 in the running for the illustrious honour.
The winner will be decided by a panel of 30 journalists from across Europe and the result will be announced in October.
