Reece Oxford to join Bundesliga

Oxford-604905West Ham’s Reece Oxford is joining Borussia Monchengladbach on a season-long loan claims John Cross in the Daily Mirror.

The 18-year-old Hammer is going to Germany to help his development claims the report. Oxford found his first team opportunities limited since his appearance at sixteen when he helped beat Arsenal at the Emirates. He has since signed a long-term deal keeping at the club until June 2021.

After a disappointing loan spell at Championship playoff finalists, Reading saw him make just five league appearances, they want to see him go out and get more games under his belt. He made two appearances in UEFA Europa League qualifiers and five more appearances in Premier League 2. His twelve appearances at a lower level totalled 812 minutes on the pitch all season.

Oxford can also play in midfield, and the hope is the Bundesliga experience will boost his chances of becoming a first-team regular for the Hammers.
