Reid gets the armband

reidNew Zealand coach Anthony Hudson has named Winston Reid as his skipper ahead of the game against Uzbekistan in Tashkent this week.

Hudson says the 26-year-old Iron has all the qualities required to lead the team forward.

Claiming he is deeply committed to the international team Hudson said he’s a top player, a good man and will lead the team in his own way, taking them into this new era of the All Whites.

Reid declared that he was proud of the faith that Hudson had placed  in him to lead this team and he’s looking forward to the challenge of facing a strong side like Uzbekistan in their first match of a new World Cup cycle.
