Reid starts

Just a few minutes after we posed the question it was answered!

Winston Reid starts for the under 23s against Wolfsburg this evening for the under 23s and CandH could not be more delighted.

The central defender has battled to nearly 20 months to recover from a devastating injury and finally he will be making his bow in the Premier League International Cup match at Rush Green this evening.

He will be partnered at central defence by young Goncalo Cordoso, who has been in brilliant form over recent games after joining the club late in the summer for around £3 million.

But all eyes are likely to be on Winston as he gives the knee injured at Swansea all those months ago a work out in what is a very big match for the under 23s.

And Nathan Holland too is included as he again looks to impress his credentials on manager Manuel Pellegrini for a first team call up against Newcastle or Burnley!

  1. Good luck Winston!!!

  2. Great to see Winston starting – I hope to see him back challenging for a first team place soon

I really find it disappointing when people post on the forum that he should retire – he got injured trying to make a heroic block against Swansea and deserves a chance to try to make it back with our full support

  3. Great news wish him luck !
