“Relegation rivals buckling” | Hammers have to hang in there – Report

Still ten games to go and the gap to safety – where Nottingham Forest inhabit seventeenth spot – is just two points, with Tottenham still teetering above with a five point margin over West Ham. Neither side won today as the relegation battle looks more of a going-right-to-the-wire war of attrition.

That is certainly the view of former West Ham defender Scott Minto.

According to insidefutbol.com this evening, the former Hammers left back thinks it may go right to the wire:

“Scott Minto thinks West Ham United have some positivity about them and must hang in there beyond March because relegation rivals Tottenham Hotspur are buckling:

“Tottenham Hotspur’s squad was all about Champions League and maybe going for Europe again in terms of the Premier League. They are not used to this and they are buckling.

So if West Ham can stay close, within touching distance as it gets even more nervy and even more pressure then who knows. I can’t call it. I have no idea who’s going to be that third team.”

The Spuds are suffering – as are Forest from the lack of any sign of a ‘new manager bounce’ with back to back Premier League defeats meaning neither side have been able to take advantage of West Ham’s one point from four. Tottenham, remember haven’t won a Premier League game this year.

All to play for at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night then: West Ham can again climb out of the relegation zone if they can work the oracle against Fulham.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Always thought with Spurs’ squad they’d never dip this far down. Fight is on, good luck to the team who deserve it and great to see this team pulling together.

Hope Bowen gets a 2nd win coming into the final stretch.

If team survive relegation, fan groups should organize a street party with players, manager + coaches and all backroom staff as guests of honour!

I thought Forest looked decent against Liverpool but their manager is a bit of a firebrand which may end up being counterproductive. Also not sure the spurs manager was a shrewd choice.
Would love to see spurs drop.
A bit obvious but we are playing well but need to start winning

Obvious maybe, D. But it is the truth. We need to win. If the points tally remain as they are until the end of the season, the we are down. It doesn’t matter if Tottenham and Forest are clueless rubbish and both get no more points until the end (impossible as they play each other soon). If we don’t get above them, we are doomed.

Obvious and I don’t think it will happen this way but we aren’t comfortable just yet.

Tottenham are on jaw droppingly bad form, it doesn’t seem possible that they can keep being as bad as they are.

If nobodies form changes it’s Tottenham who go down.
