There’s been a lot of love for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá over the past two years—and it’s clear the feeling is mutual.

Social media has been awash with stories of Paquetá’s gratitude towards his teammates, the fans, and even former boss David Moyes, as the Brazilian reflects on a tough period..

Moyes is said to have formed a strong bond with Paquetá and played a key role in supporting him throughout the FA’s betting investigation. The former West Ham manager even gave evidence during the hearing, which is believed to have had a significant impact on the outcome.

Paquetá has also been quick to thank Hammers supporters and his current and former teammates, who have stood by him through what has undoubtedly been a torrid couple of years.

From Moyes, Tim Steidten (who travelled to his home in Brazil to spend time with him) to Graham Potter and the club’s backroom team, it’s clear the “Paq-Man” has felt supported from all corners.

After keeping his silence for so long, the 27-year-old finally broke it with an emotional social media statement:

“Since the first day of this investigation, I have maintained my innocence against these extremely serious accusations.
I can’t say anything more at this time, but I would like to express how grateful I am to God and how eager I am to return to playing football with a smile on my face.
To my wife who never let go of my hand, to West Ham United, to the fans who always cheered me on, and to my family, friends and the legal team who have supported me – thank you for everything.”

With the cloud finally lifted, Hammers fans will be hoping to see a reinvigorated Paquetá lighting up the pitch once again.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

That is a very classy social media statement from Lucas Paqueta. And his lovely wife can take a lot of credit for standing by her man. Happy New Season to the Paqueta family!

Let us hope they do not go after him again.

FA look stupid. This is an impression that they have brought on themselves. A semblance of professionalism would be out of place at The FA.

They have met their match with Manchester City and have emerged to be very foolish messing with the life of Lucas Paqueta.

    Come on Lucas & COYI

    Nice
