Remember, remember – no strikers required!

Ricardo-Vaz-Te-431241This week has seen loads of debate and opinions on our striker crisis.

Diafra Sakho is set to take some part in the action but Irons fans heading to WHL this evening worrying where the goals are coming from might want to turn the clock back to 6th October 2013.

Of course that was the day Big Sam launched his radical 4-6-0 formation on an unsuspecting AVB and without a striker on the pitch we ran out comfortable 3-0 winners!

‘Allerdici’s midfield of Noble, Nolan, Diame, Vaz Te, Downing and Morrison, caused Spurs no end of problems with Diame and Ravel swapping as the ‘false 9’.

That memorable result lifted us out of the bottom 3 and of course was capped of by Ravel Morrison’s wonderful individual goal.

Who needs strikers?
