West Ham are tonight being linked with Barcelona central defender Thomas Vermaelen.
The Belgium international joined Barca from Arsenal in 2014 but has made just 11 appearances during a frustrating spell in Catalonia.
Spanish outlet Sport say Barca boss Luis Enrique will allow Vermaelen to leave the Nou Camp this summer and the Irons are reported to be chasing the player.
It is claimed Vermaelen would prefer a return a move to West Ham over Liverpool, although there has not yet been any contact between the Hammers and Barcelona.

He’s clearly not good enough for barca or else he’d be staying. 11 appearances in 2 years says it all, he had one brilliant season at arsenal and has been injured pretty much ever since. We don’t need another sick note imo

Thats like saying Ogbonna wasn’t good enough for Juve because he wasn’t a first choice though.You can’t dismiss players because of there inability to get into top teams like Barcelona.Maybe you are right about the injuries but I still wouldnt dismiss some like him out of hand.However it’s only another media report as you say.Total fiction probably lol
There are better players then him he is no better then Tomo or Reid,we need some back bone in our defence I would prefer to go for Shawcross of Stoke or Laccelles of Newcastle,
To play alongside Ogbonna,
There will plenty of spare CH about when City Manure,Gooners,Chelski start getting shot of theirs,
But we should be looking for more then just a RB if we are going to improve,
Not getting shot of Ogbonna or Cresswell

I like Vermaelin he’s a good player BUT his injury record has been poor for a good couple of years – sounds like a non starter to me, his Agent is obviously getting busy now that Barca have finally got fed-up with paying him to lay on the treatment table!
My bros is a Gooner & the black sheep of the family for it lol he really rates this guy but as you have all said his injuries are an issue.As a defender though he is bloody good imo.Sorry bubs mate,definately better than Tonks or Reid for me 🙂
