Report: Benrahma loan deal agreement sorted

West Ham and Lyon are tonight being reported as having reached an agreement for Said Benramah to join the Ligue 1 side on loan.

L’Equipe are declaring that it will be a paid loan but that there is no obligatory purchase involved for the player at the end of his spell at the French club.

The newspaper is also claiming that the deal has been very much on the cards for Lyon for some time with sporting director David Friio saying the Algerian international will join in the coming hours.

It also says the loan fee is thought to be in the order of £5 million with the non obligatory purchase option believed to be in the order of £10 million.

It is probably not the deal the Hammers wanted for the N0 22 as they would sooner have seen him leave on a permanent basis.

But  a £5 million loan fee with a £10 million purchase fee,  should they want to complete a permanent deal, suggests Lyon are indeed very keen on the player.

And it means that there is now an extra slot in the Hammers squad which may see the club decide to try – if they aren’t already – to resurrect the deal for Ibrahim Osman which has so far been been plagued with problems on all sides.
