Report: Bid to be tabled for Irons target

|

Brighton are set to table a bid to sign Charlie McArthur from Kilmarnock but there is also interest from the Hammers and Wolves in the youngster.

The 16-year-old centre-back has been drawing admiring glances from the Premier League, as he has already broken into the Kilmarnock first-team in Scotland.

The captain of Scotland’s U17 side, McArthur has made three senior appearances for the club, and is being scouted by the trio of clubs.

As a result, the Daily Record reports that Brighton are set to try to jump to the front of the queue by tabling a bid in the next few weeks.

West Ham and Wolves are also said to be keen on bringing McArthur into the club and want a deal done quickly to avoid any other clubs sniffing around.

Kilmarnock are currently in the second-tier in Scotland but they are four points clear at the top of the table, and may choose to keep McArthur around as they aim for a return to the Premiership.
