Report: Bundesliga outfit ready to bid for Coufal

Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are this afternoon being reported as wanting to broker a deal for Vladimir Coufal.

The Hammers right back has been relegated to second choice behind Thilo Kehrer and on occasions Ben Johnson which presumably – should the report be accurate – have Leverkusen believing they can tempt the Hammers into a deal.

With the position well covered David Moyes may feel that he could use the cash to boost his January dealings with a new central defender being required should Craig Dawson – as seems likely – move on

The news that Coufal is a target for the Bundesliga outfit comes from Sky Deutschland and it claims that Leverkusen officials will travel to London at the end of this week to negotiate a deal for the 30-year-old defender, who has fallen out of place under Moyes.

The Czech Republic international was bought for a modest £4 million by West Ham in October 2020 and remains under contract with the Londoners until 2023 but with a two-year option attacjjed it will take double that and more to see him move on.

  1. Another player not correctly been treated by Moyes. In my opinion the best full back at the club but Moyes our tactical genius seems to think not. Would be sad to see him jeave.
