West Ham will be offered the chance to offload striker Javier Hernandez to Besiktas in the January transfer window claims the Daily Express.
This may or may not be true although it seems no better than a 50-50 bet given that beyond Marko, we are short on numbers in that position.
The 30-year-old has struggled to find his best form for the Hammers since arriving from German outfit Bayer Leverkusen last summer for £16m on a weekly wage reported to be worth up to £140,000 per week.
C&H Opinion:
Chicharito has scored 10 goals in 43 appearances for the Hammers while he managed 28 goals from 55 appearances in Germany for Bayer Leverkusen. Some argue he can no longer keep up with the pace of the Premier League while others suggest his ‘fox in the box’ strategy is outdated. Many believe West Ham have never played to his strengths and he has been played in the wrong formations under David Moyes and Manuel Pellegrini. While the West Ham board may jump at the chance of getting the majority of their £16m back in a deal with the Turkish club the wages alone are likely to be completely out of reach for Besiktas or most European clubs. The Mexican signed a three-year deal with West Ham in 2017 taking him up to the Summer of 2020. A move to LA Galaxy would be a more likely move for Chicharito who could probably fund the move in shirt sales alone.
