Report claims Hammers’ transfer priorities “have shifted” following Kretinksy takeover

Less than twenty four hours since the Kretinsky – Gold joint statement and already there’s an air of optimism from West Ham fans looking to a season in the Championship as very much a time for rebuilding, restructuring and coming back stronger than before.

Pride, it seems, may no longer be an endangered emotion amongst West Ham fans if the brave new world pans out as we all hope.

Whilst it will take months to set up a competent, professional team to run the club under its new management, reports already make the suggestion that the Hammers will be heading in a new direction under the Czech’s stewardship.

Footballleagueworld.co.uk have wasted no time in proclaiming it is ‘all change’ at London stadium, despite the share deal not yet even being finalised to give Gold and Kretinsky their power base:

Knowing only too well that ‘It is the hope that kills you”, West Ham fans who have waited fifteen years for this moment will watch from the sidelines, knowing that ‘action’ speaks far louder than the most noble words put out in a club statement.

Ironically it is likely to be the first appointments off the pitch which will likely signpost the way forward.

A decent sporting – technical director and, hopefully, confirmation that Nuno’s assistant Paco Jemez is signed up once again may indeed set the tone for the tilt at the Championship next season.

At that point, West Ham fans really could start to ‘hope’ once again.
