Report: Daws exit closing in, replacement lined up

Craig Dawson is closing in on a move to Wolves, according to Jack Rosser of The Sun.

Formerly of the Evening Standard, the journalist has an excellent track record when it comes to West Ham news, and he claims the Irons defender is now poised to make the switch to Molineux.

There was also reported to be interest from Aston Villa but it appears that Wolves have moved ahead of Steven Gerrard’s side in the race to sign the ex-Watford man.

Jan Bednarek, as we reported last week, has been identified as the potential replacement for the Irons, and it appears the Southampton man is now closing in on a loan move.

The Hammers were exploring the viability of a loan deal last week and the Saints look to have sanctioned that exit.

Bednarek is 26 and is a full Poland international with 42 caps; he has made 153 appearances for the Saints in total.

  1. According to BBC Dawson stays as deal for replacement from Southampton is off. Personally I am pleased he is staying!
