Report: Declan Rice scouted by Manchester United

|

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent his personal scout Simon Wells to watch and report on West Ham’s Declan Rice at Bramell Lane ahead of a possible summer move for the Hammer claims the Daily Mail.

The Mail says Simon Wells was dispatched to watch Rice during Friday night’s 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United, a game in which the 20-year-old set up an injury-time equaliser for Robert Snodgrass only for VAR to penalise Rice for a handball in the build-up

Wells is said to be Solskjaer’s most trusted scout having been tasked by the Manchester United boss with concentrating solely on players to improve their first team. He reports directly to Solskjaer after stepping up to the new role in September.

Rice, who has seven England caps, is contracted to West Ham until the Summer 2024 but the report says they are expecting an approach by Manchester United in the coming months.

If they sell Declan, I’m done with the club after 5 decades…
Ferdinand, Lampard, Cole, and so many others sold way too early… Unless Declan wants to go- build the team around him, he’s going to be a strong club leader and England captain…
I hate our owners with a passion! Two slimy disgusting porn loving trash! Disgusting human beings!

To be fair players tend to leave clubs with little ambition in general anyway.
