Report: First new Hammers arrival on Monday

|

Denis Zakaria

West Ham United are being reported as being expected to complete the signing of Swiss international Denis Zakaria on Monday in a deal worth thought to be around €20million [£17m].

That’s according to TuttoSport who have an average of around 50 per cent in these matters. and there is yet to be any word from inside the London Stadium as to the accuracy of the report although we are attempting to check it out with our own sources.

Should David Moyes swop for the player it will be the first of the Declan Rice money – either received or on its way from Arsenal.

He would be the first of three or four new signing the Hammers are expected to make over the transfer window, the former on-loan Chelsea midfielder having allegedly emerged as a main target to bolster midfielder.

The worry is though that he spent last season on loan at Chelsea but failed to impress , making just seven Premier League appearances.

true, there’s not much to go on….other than Chelsea having no idea what to do with their players for 3 seasons. hopefully he comes with a spring in his step and a point to prove

Would be delighted to pick Zakaria up for under £20mil.
He will prove to be an astute signing IMHO.
Not a replacement for Rice, of course.
