Marseilles are this morning being reported as holding an interest in Sofiane Feghouli.
According to L’Equipe, Marseille could launch a bid for the winger who has missed out on Algeria’s 23-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.
It’s been reported representatives from the French side, who are sixth in the league, have enquired about his availability.
Feghouli appeared as a late sub for the Irons at Leicester yesterday but once again failed to make any sort of real impact and the club will listen to offers.
The 27-year-old has started only four games for us with those coming in both Europa League legs against Domzale as well as Accrington and Manchester United in the EFL Cup.
Failed to make an impact? I thought he looked a threat when he came on.
Obviously he has not impressed in training, which is a shame – he looked a decent player in Spain. He can’t show what he can do if he’s not on the pitch and that lack of playing time has stuffed him for AFCON.
He needs to play and therefore a move is probably the best thing for him. As far as we are concerned, it’s win/win: he cost us nothing and should be worth £10m+. That should help the budget for that elusive striker.
