Report: Foxes eye Irons defender

BurkeMorning reports claim that Leicester City boss is keen on making a shock swoop for Reece Burke

And The Sun claims Burke is ready to entertain such an offer and the chance of Champions League football.

However, it takes a leap of the imagination to accept that he would go from a loan spell with Bradford City to such exalted heights or that the Hammers are ready to let him go.

He remains a key figure in the club’s future with James Collins  reaching the veteran stage and an Irons source told ClaretandHugh : “He’s been getting rave reports and our own scouts have kept an eye on his progress. He’s a very good player and not one we wouldn’t want to lose.

Burke has played five league games for the Irons and Ranieri is impressed with his versatility in being able to fill both central defence and right back positions

  1. I’ve said it all along it will be only a matter of time before our young players are getting their collective heads turned.Wait for the moves for Reece Oxford later this year.

  2. A few days ago it was Oxford surely they need JOB much more experienced a lot cheaper and available,
Maybe we could do a straight swap with Vardy ?
Burke need go nowhere if he wants European Football just come back impress the Fukc out of Slav and bingo

  3. OMG – That’s all we need! Why would Burke do any better at Leicester than at WHU?

  4. This is actually not a new story I read about it last week on some feed or another, I doubt we would sell him unless a ridiculous offer came in besides it sounds as if he is the answer to many of our recent problems if he can play right back and right centre back.

  5. Yeah. This is a rehashed story from last week. Probably just paper talk. However, east end boy on 4K a week. Surely it won’t be difficult or expensive to persuade him to stay at the club he loves with a much new and improved contract. I really think this boy has a big future and was really impressed with him in the games he played in the PL last year.

  6. It’s not all about the money
These lads will need to know they are going to get playing time,
Last year this lad came in under Hippo and played well and probably thought his time had arrived only for Ogbonna to arrive and him stuck in wonderful Bradford,
Now he is behind Oxford and even Henry is pushing for a start,
Samulsun and Callum plus Pyet and Lee will all want to have assurances or be sold on as well,
I thought last week the story was Oxford was wanted by Leicester
