Report: Free agent decision looms

Adnan Januzaj is set to make a decision over his future in the coming days, and West Ham remain firmly in the mix to sign him, according to a new report.

Spanish outlet AS claims that the winger has a number of offers on the table after leaving Real Sociedad at the end of last season.

The Hammers are reported to have made an offer, with the winger having previously worked with David Moyes at both Manchester United and Sunderland.

Everton are also reported to be in the race to secure Januzaj’s signature, along with Italian club Napoli and La Liga side Sevilla. A Qatari club are also said to have made a bid, but the Belgium international wants to remain in Europe.

The 27-year-old has won 15 caps for his country and made a total of 166 appearances for Sociedad, scoring 23 goals and laying on 21 assists.

With Jesse Lingard potentially moving to Nottingham Forest, there is an option in the squad for a new attacking player.

  1. Noi thanks, another useless player looking to cash in on their lack of ability

    • 10000% agree mate but he’s another ex Moyes player who was rubbish at manure and sunderland so why oh why would we be interested? oh yeah he’s a freebie.

      • When you look at a club local to me Brentford, they have signed two of our supposed targets Aaron Hickey who looks a very good left back and Keane Lewis-Potter who has already scored for them as well as a keeper Stakosha, how is it that we have signed Aguerd who no one has heard of, Flynn Downes who is imho a squad filler and struggled to sign Areola whom we already had a price agreed with his selling club ?

Anyone would think Brentford were the top 6 side as they are able to attract talent buy it at reasonable prices and it wouldn’t surprise me if they end up doing quite well relative to their funds…. last season they got Erikson also, we struggle to get deals done for players that have been on loan at our club like Lingard, something is seriously askew

        • Excellent points: totally agree. Brentford are making our current actions in the transfer market look amateurish. Hopefully it will get better, although some of the old faces being linked with us again are worrying.

  2. His stats. are abysmal, so no wonder he is on a free. If this is the quality of player we end up with then we will be in serious trouble. Also see that Oxlade-Chamberlain is being linked with us again, which is a worry. Just waiting for Mata’s name to appear. West Ham need to sign some quality players fast, with the Rangers game again showing the recurring problems at centre forward and left back.
