Report: Hammers back in for striker

Michy-Batshuayi-612149Sky Sources are currently claiming  the Irons have made a a €35m bid for Michy Batshuayi.

The offer is worth around £28.25m at 9am on Friday morning but that is set to change as the exchange rate fluctuates following the Brexit vote.

Batshuayi scored 24 goals for Marseille in Ligue 1 last season and is attracted by a move to the Premier League, but he said last month that he would not change clubs until after Euro 2016.

He has been an unused substitute for their three Group E games at Euro 2016.

  1. Just hope we get a decent striker and hold on to dimitri….we are not far off being a top six side with a few additions…coyi

  2. I agree Dicollio… we’re already a top six side imho, with some additions we’ll be a top four side… Batman, Tore a class CB, a proper RB and good dose of luck… and that’s it, as easy as pie… lol 😉

  3. I totally agree, and if we can’t get a top striker don’t pay over the odds for someone like Wilson, he is no better than Sakho. If we cant get a top striker, take a chance with a striker for 10-12m and keep Sakho and Enner. I would agree, get Tore need him and a top RB. I think we need to play Oxford at CB this season as I watched Ogbanna the other night for Italy and I thought he may not be as good as we think – saying that he had a very good first season and lets hope he keeps that up. I would consider buying a left back that could cover CB and LB someone like Vermalaen.

  4. My problem with this guy and Lacazette is they have both made it clear they would rather play for someone else and to cough up 30 mil. plus for a player who will signing just for the money is a very bad idea.
I think johnhammer’s idea is much better. Rather have a lesser striker who will work his socks off for us than one dreaming of Spurs or Real.
Another thing to remember is (fingers crossed) that Carroll, for the first time, will be starting the season healthy and could yet explode into the prolific scorer we thought we’d bought.
Watching England waste one glorious ball into the box, after another, I have no doubt Andy would have put one of those away

  5. Janssen is better than both of these put together (Laca and Batman) plus younger and looks hungrier.
