Report: Hammers chase Hernandez

Javier_-Chicharito-_Hernandez_vs_MLS_All_StarsWest Ham are tonight being reported as trying to sign Mexico striker Javier Hernandez – better known as ‘Chicarito.’

According to the Mirror, the former Manchester United striker is understood to be open to a return to England with the Irons ready to hand him he opportunity by meeting the £13 million release clause in his contract at Bayer Leverkusen.

It’s claimed that West Ham have had the player watched closely at the Confederations Cup in Russia and the Mirror claims his performances. on the back of a season in which he scored 11 goals in 26 appearances, have convinced them to make their move.

The move makes sense as the Irons were linked strongly with moves for the player in 2015 when he snubbed us for a move to the Bundesliga

And it squares with information we received earlier this evening when we were told: “We have moved on from  Anthony Modeste and Cedric Bakambu  and are now chasing other targets.

Modeste was quoted to us at £40 million which is crazy given his age and  Bakumba has decided to stay with his club Villareal.

  1. Peter Crouch and a book token and we’ll count ourselves lucky Lol

  2. Take Chic over Gray and a lot of the other we have been linked with and especially if can be settled for a fee around £13m. He has premier league experience and Van Gaal is the only reason he left and Country’s best scorer. Would have him over Modeste or Cedric. And if giroud becomes available later would work great together.
We would be Mad not to go all in for him at this moment.

  3. Agree but Id really like Gray too.

  4. Hernandez also said when asked about moving, why would I I am happy at Bayer. So it is more likely paper talk.

    • He did but as also been open to a move as well. And since Leverkusen didn’t make Europa they will be looking to sell.
This is also a mirror report and we know how reliable they are.
But would love to have him at West Ham. And think we should go in strong with £1 bid and try and get a striker for preseason.
And I am not a fan of Gray Wage demands are obsurd and would be about the same as Ayew.
