Hammers chase Inter prodigy as Steidten looks to lower age profile
News reports from Italy have confirmed that West Ham has submitted a bid for Inter Milan’s Valentin Carboni. However, it is suggested that Inter Milan is reluctant to sell the 18-year-old starlet for the reported €11 million offered by the Hammers.
Currently on loan at Monza, Carboni has showcased his talent with two goals and three assists in 14 Serie A games this season. Whilst reports in Italy and Argentina initially mentioned West Ham’s opening offer of €11 million, Inter have remained tight lipped.
Hammers chase for Inter prodigy Valentin Carboni is being led by Tim SteidtenAccording to the report, there is no specified asking price for the 18-year-old, but it is implied that any interested club would likely need to offer more than €20 million.
Carboni is set to return to Inter at the end of the season, as Monza does not have an option to make his move permanent. Tuttosport recently reported Inter’s attempt to recall Carboni in January, but Monza opted to retain him.
Having made six appearances with Inter’s senior team, Carboni’s contract with the Nerazzurri is scheduled to run until June 2028. If accurate, this report suggests a strategic shift for West Ham, indicating a willingness to invest significant funds in young, unproven players with high potential. This has been highlighted by The Hammers pursuit of Ghanaian wonderkid Ibrahim Osman.
