Report: Hammers consider bid for Real Madrid midfielder

West Ham is considering a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports.

The 22-year-old – who has started 12 La Liga games for Real this season has been told he is surplus to requirements and is available to leave this summer.

The midfielder was signed for £15million by Real Madrid from Real Betis in 2017 but Zidane is though to want £18m for his midfielder.

The gifted play-maker shot to fame with his exceptional performances for Spain at the U21 European Championships in 2017.

That form helped sealed a move from Real Betis to Real Madrid but the 22-year-old has struggled to make the step up at Real Madrid.

According to Marca, the former France international has now told Ceballos that he has no future in Madrid, with the six-cap international accepting that he is on ‘borrowed time’. Zidane has also told Gareth Bale and Marcos Llorente that they are free to leave.

  1. Zidane has given him the go ahead to move on with others tho Man U others want Llorente who is 2yrs older & not as good IMO but is RM academy player. Pellegrini doesn’t like loans anwyay & Ceballos did fine past season didn’t play all agmss but 30 apps 3 goals 5 assists. He is quick, hold onto ball, can score a longer range goal, set prices, reads game well & will do dirty work. £18m in this market for a Spain international who Enrique loves isn’t bad & will have resale.
Much rather £18m for him then £20m for Allen or Shelvey or even Hayden tho latter of 3 would be my choice of those 3 but Cellabos is younger then all of them fit technical & cheaper. No brained to me. I’d be trying to get this done by June.
And I’d go ahead & buy Motherwell’s David Turnbull too bc still not on any bug clubs radar but 19yo 13 goals 6 assists from CM wouldn’t cost less then £5m & I like John McGinn but at 19 Davis is much better already. British too should get before Celtic do in a year or so.

  2. I don’t know anything about him. It’s easy to assume that he’s good because of his current club but that isn’t always the case. Look at some of the youngsters from big English clubs who have quickly fallen down the leagues. That said, if he’s good enough for Pellegrini, he’s good enough for me and at 22, a great age.

  3. Looks like a very good partner and potentially cover for Rice, even if he is more than £18m we should go in strongly for him, defensively excellent good with lateral passes, if he can add key passes and finishing to his game could be a world beater.
