West Ham could do a deal to sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal this summer, according to the London Evening Standard.
The report claims that the Hammers have been given a boost in their potential pursuit of the Gunners striker, having failed to sign a forward in the January transfer window.
We know that the Irons will be on the lookout for a new striker this summer, especially with Mikey Antonio’s injury woes.
The Irons are said to have been tracking Nketiah since January and would have been willing to do a deal then, though Arsenal dug their heels in and kept the 21-year-old.
The England U21 international has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring five goals, but he has not played more than a minute in the Premier League since January, when he made a late substitute cameo against Crystal Palace.
Folarin Balogun has signed a new contract at the club and that has left Nketiah in a strange position, as he will have to compete with Balogun for a spot in Arsenal’s squad.
Boss David Moyes is said to be a fan of Nketiah and believes his intensity and hard running makes him a good fit for the Irons.
