Report: Hammers eye Barca option

West Ham United are being reported as having an interest in Barcelona midfielder Rafinha as David Moyes looks for more attacking  craft and attacking guile in the Hammers squad.

With Manu Lanzini and Felipe Anderson excluded from the team on Saturday and left on the bench as unused subs against Newcastle, it may well be that he could be attracted towards a cut price option.

It remains a case of defenders first for the Hammers but the twice capped Brazilian who is among the first teamers at the Nou Camp deemed as saleable as the club attempts to copr with its present cash crisis.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the Hammers are keen on the two-cap Brazil international, who only has a year remaining on his contract at the Nou Camp and is valued at around £9 million although being in the lasyt year of his deal could well come cheaper than that.

Rafinha has been with Barca since the age of 13, but has had a hard time trying to establish himself in the starting XI since gaining promotion to the first-team.

Now 27, Rafinha has only made 90 appearances for Barca, and it could well be ready for a new challenge.
