Report: Hammers eyeing Man Utd ace

|

West Ham are considering a potential bid to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson on loan, according to a report from The Sun.

The Hammers are said to be eyeing a move for a goalkeeper this summer, with there reportedly being interest in West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

Johnstone is set to be available on a free transfer at the end of the season when his Baggies contract expires but there is also interest in signing him from Spurs.

That has led to a suggestion that the Hammers could instead move for Henderson, who has struggled for minutes at United this season in the shadow of David de Gea.

The report claims that United are willing to sponsor a loan move for the 25-year-old, paying a chunk of his £120,000-per-week wages in order to get him some football.

The England international has a contract at Old Trafford until 2025 but has failed to make a single Premier League appearance this season.

He has only made three senior appearances this term, the most recent coming in the penalty shootout defeat to Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup.
