Report: Hammers eyeing PL hotshot

West Ham are eyeing a deal to sign Armando Broja from Chelsea this summer, according to a new report in The Sun.

The Irons were interested in striking a deal for the centre-forward in January but were unable to convince the Blues to sell him.

Broja is currently on loan at Southampton and he has impressed during his time at St Mary’s, scoring six goals in 30 league outings.

The Albania international actually scored against the Irons in the FA Cup earlier this season, netting a stunning solo goal, and boss David Moyes is said to have been impressed by his performances.

Southampton remain keen to keep Broja and are likely to discuss a deal with Chelsea in the summer.

There can be no deal struck until the current sanctions on the Blues are lifted and clubs are waiting for that to happen in order to launch a move.

The Irons could sway Broja by offering European football although there has previously been interest from Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.

  1. This guy has gone off the boil in the 2nd half of the season.

  2. Nothing can happen until sanctions are lifted. But if Chelsea really wanted Rice that badly and he really wanted to go then I think there is a good deal to be done. Would take Broja, Callagher, Loftus-Cheek and maybe one or two more for Rice. Broja wouldn’t be my main striker top priority but definitely need at least two strikers so would be a good addition I believe
