West Ham are battling Everton to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to a new report.
The defensive-minded midfielder has been with the Bundesliga club since 2017 and has continually been linked with a potential move to the Premier League over the last few years.
He is entering the final year of his contract, though, and a new report from Calciomercato claims that there is still interest in his signature from England.
Both the Hammers and Everton are said to be keeping a close eye on his situation, with Juventus and Roma also interested in Serie A.
Bild also report that Gladbach have identified Zakaria as the kind of player they can raise funds from by selling him in January so he could well be on the market next month.
He has made a total of 141 appearances for Gladbach and is also an experienced international, winning 40 caps for Switzerland in the past few years.
