Report: Hammers in for Serie A man

West Ham are interested in a deal to sign Juventus star Luca Pellegrini, according to a new report.

The left-back has been linked with the Hammers in recent weeks and appears set to move on from the Italian club in the January transfer window.

He has spent the past two seasons out on loan, with Cagliari and Genoa, and is not playing regularly for Juve.

Indeed, he has made just one appearance for the club in total and is seen as an expendable member of the squad.

As a result, the 22-year-old looks almost certain to move on in January and the Hammers could reportedly take advantage as they look to strengthen at the turn of the year.

Corriere di Torino reports that the Hammers have a real interest in snapping him up, although they face competition from Serie A side Sampdoria.

Pellegrini is valued at £8.1m by Transfermarkt and has won one cap for Italy.
