The Hammers are today reported to be in a race with Fulham and Everton to sign Toulouse central defender Issa Diop.
Manuel Pellegrini returns from Chile this week and is understood to have the 21 year old in his sights after the player has been tracked by Arsenal, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Barcelona over the last few weeks.
The Mail reports that the 6ft 4in defender is strong in the air and quick on the ball with Toulouse ready to let him leave at a price of around £25 million.
Both Fulham and Everton are keenly interested after heavily scouting the France under 21 international over recent months along with the Irons.
With two years left on his present deal after signing a contract extension in 2016, Diop is something of a cult hero at his club after helping Toulouse to remain in the top division during a troubled season last term
With pelle back he will sort out this transfer if he wants him maybe Marlon too
wish he would come back from holiday now, its a crucial time.
This geezer is an absolute monster. Just right to replace Ginge.
6′ 4″ and about 14 stone he would even scare my granny. About time we had a physical dominant destroyer in the heart of our defence. He looks great on u-tube except it’s only French football, but he is built to adapt.
If we sign the man from Barcelona, then we will need Diop to do his heading for him.
it was smalling and marital this morning and fabianski and mawson yesterday..we seem to have strong interest in a lot but they soon go away when we offer peanuts….
True not sure any of these would be Pellegrini first choices. Pastore perhaps maybe even Anderson and am sure Martial if he was available but Mawson, Diop, Fabianski, Smalling i don’t see it.
I don’t think so with Mawson and Smalling either, but I read that he likes Diop very much.
Come on guys – West Ham reported to be interested in! Why would you ever believe this bull? And even if we were, the dildos will mess it up for us anyway.
I’m fast coming to the view that even Pelligrini cannot get these clowns to play nicely. It’s not just Leicester and Sporting who refuse to deal with us. Our reputation goes before us unfortunately.
