Report: Hammers in race for Serie A man

West Ham are in contention to sign Ruslan Malinovskyi, according to a new report.

The Irons are said to be in the picture to sign the ace from Atalanta, and it appears that his exit absolutely is on the cards.

He is said to have a strained relationship with boss Gian Piero Gasperini and there are clubs following him from England.

The Hammers are said to be one of them, as per Calcio Mercato, but Nottingham Forest and Spurs are also said to be keeping close tabs on his situation.

It remains to be seen if Atalanta will be willing to countenance a sale but it appears that the Ukraine international is keen on a move.

He has impressed for Atalanta and has racked up over 130 appearances for the club; at the age of 29, he may be approaching his peak, but this is a very talented attacking midfielder.

Still, it feels more like the kind of target we’d have looked at before signing Lucas Paqueta, not after.
