West Ham are interested in a deal to sign Atletico Madrid winger Vitolo this summer, according to a new report.
Sport Witness carries a report from Fichajes claiming that the Hammers wanted to do a deal for Vitolo in January before taking Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United.
The 31-year-old has only made seven appearances for Atletico this season in La Liga, laying on one assist.
In total, the winger, who can play on the left or the right, has made 98 appearances for the Spanish giants, scoring seven goals and registering nine assists.
Manager Diego Simeone is not said to believe that Vitolo has a future at Atletico and, as such, the opportunity is there for the Hammers to do a deal.
Atletico are said to have made contact with the Hammers to offer them the chance to bid, and his permanent signing would cost less than €10m (£8.4m).
Vitolo is ageing, though, so we will have to wait and see if David Moyes is willing to sanction such a deal.
No if we want another attacker in La Liga Gerrard Moreno be good for imo. If can’t get En-Nesyri but not injury prone bit part. And we more need a CF who can play on wings then & out & out CF
Too old and dishonest. Forced an exit from Sevilla to play eventually for At. Madrid after having agreed to renew for Sevilla months earlier. Only interested in money and past his best. A bad choice.
