Report: Hammers keen on Arsenal’s record signing

West Ham are reportedly showing an interest in Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe for a cut-price fee this summer.

Pepe was signed from Lille in 2019 when he became the club’s record signing at  for £72million.

He has since fallen right down the pecking order and according to some media reports – which let’s be frank.  take some believing – the Gooners are ready to sell him for £25 million.

Mikel Arteta appears to have lost patience with the Ivorian and the player is now reported to have been offered to other clubs with apparently the Irons among them.

Nicolas Pepe has been unable to live up to his price-tag since arriving at Arsenal

The story first appeared in the The Express who claim the Irons  have been showing interest in signing the player.

Should they sell at £25 million,  which if it’s truly the case would interest any club, it would mean Arsenal will have lost a staggering £47m on Pepe.

David Moyes has called for his side to become European regulars after their run to the semi-finals of the Europa League this term, suggesting he wants to add strength in depth to his squad to enable the Hammers to continue to flourish on multiple fronts.

Bringing in Pepe could provide competition for the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma but at the moment this feels like a speculative piece .

We’ll keep half an eye on it however.
