Report: Hammers linked with Barca ace

West Ham have been linked with a swoop to sign Barcelona star Memphis Depay in the next transfer window.

A new report in Spain, via ABC, claims that the Hammers are interested in doing a deal for the Netherlands international when the transfer window opens in the coming weeks.

Barcelona have secured a second-place finish in La Liga and are now focusing on selling players in the summer as they bid to reduce their wage bill.

And the Hammers are reported to have made contact with the Catalan club over a deal to sign Memphis, who previously played for Manchester United.

Barcelona only signed Depay last summer but that was on a free transfer, so the club are almost guaranteed to make a profit here.

Memphis has played 27 times in La Liga this season and has scored 12 goals, while registering two assists, and is an experienced international, having won 77 caps for the Netherlands, scoring 39 goals.
