Germany under-18 midfielder Erkan Eyibil is being scouted by West Ham according to a report in the Daily Express
Eyibil, who is at Mainz and has a contract until the end of next season, is on the radar of West Ham, Fenerbahce and Newcastle and is considering a move away from the Bundesliga.
The 17-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for Mainz but has piqued the interest of a number of club scouts across Europe.
His rapid rise through the German national youth ranks has not gone unnoticed by many clubs in England. He is rated as one of the hottest youth stars in German football after scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances in the U19 Southern League this season. With five assists also to his name, Eyibil has shown an adeptness across several attacking positions.
The attacking midfielder has already been likened to Arsenal star Mesut Ozil as a comparison.
