Report: Hammers linked with PSG man

West Ham United have been linked with a move for PSG star Idrissa Gueye.

Le10Sport, via Sport Witness, reports that the Hammers are interested in a move for the midfielder, who has also been linked with Crystal Palace.

The defensive midfielder only moved to the French club in 2019 but the club are looking to raise funds by offloading players in this transfer window.

Gueye made 19 starts in Ligue 1 last term, though he was benched for both the semi-final and the final of the Champions League, as PSG lost to Bayern Munich in the showpiece.

The report states that the Senegal international is likely to leave, and he could well return to England, having left Everton to join the Parisian giants.

The Hammers are said to have shown interest in snapping up the 30-year-old, as have Roy Hodgson’s Palace.

Gueye is valued at £21.6m by Transfermarkt and it remains to be seen if the Hammers will believe he’s a valuable addition; boss David Moyes is currently plotting to strengthen his defence and potentially bring in a back-up striker instead of bolstering his midfield.

  1. I think it is plain to most people. Moyes will not be able to sign anyone. Two days before the window closes we will sell rice, but it will be too late for us to get anybody in. The quicker these asset strippers are out of the club the better

  2. Like we really need another defensive midfielder. Unless rice is being sold.
