Report: Hammers make contact for shock Moyes successor

A new report in France claims that West Ham have made contact with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino over a potential return to the Premier League.

The Argentine is out of work after leaving PSG at the end of last season, although he did win the league in France.

Jeunes Footeux reports that the Hammers are considering dispensing with Moyes’ services after a poor start to the season that has seen them drop into the relegation zone.

And that has led the French outlet to claim that the Hammers have been in touch with Pochettino to gauge his interest in a move.

Pochettino would demand guarantees for the winter window, which would hint at an expectation of big spending.

That is incredibly unlikely after the summer investment and we have also made it clear that there is no appetite, at present, to sack Moyes.

This one feels like it could be a case of 2+2=5.

  1. Fire and hire does not come cheap.Chelsea paid TT £10 mill and Brighton £2o mill. They are paying sums like this quite often.Moyes needs to come with a new system fast,43 points is the best we can for hope for by the way we are playing. He should buy players that can play in his one chosen system and stop thinking that any player costing over 25 miilion should be able to fit into it. As for Potch, cant see it but if it happend would not be bothered

  2. The best news reported here if it is to be believed is that Moyes days are numbered . We don’t need a loser from Spuds but the ex Chelsea guy Tuechal would be a good fit . COYI

  3. Either would be an upgrade on Moyes but there could be some DeJa’Vu re Pellegrini.
Personally I don’t think Moyes is done with WH and neither are the board with him. The media will slate him if we lose today and he will be given the chance to turn it around probably until the World Cup. He is a nuts & bolts type of manager and knows the Premier League inside out. The other 2 had limited success with their respective clubs. WH isn’t a manger sacking club nor should we start to be one.
