Report: Hammers make full-back bid

|

West Ham have tabled a bid for Aaron Hickey at Bologna, according to a new report.

The teenager moved to the Italian club from Scottish side Hearts in September 2020 for a fee of £1.5m. Hickey can play at both left-back and right-back and is also capable of playing on the left of midfield.

And it now appears that he could move on for a significantly higher fee, with the Hammers and Arsenal both said to be interested in doing a deal.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the offer has gone in and is worth €25m, which equates to £21.25m.

The Hammers may well be in the market for a new left-back, especially as Arthur Masuaku is likely to leave the club if a bid is forthcoming this summer.

Hickey is already a full Scotland international, with two caps under his belt, at the age of 19, and there is also reported to be interest from Brentford in securing his signature.

Bassey would be good but maybe Moyes is still sleeping after villa took kamara on a free and probably will get whoever Moyes wants as villa are so much better finishing way below us and not in Europe but still getting in quality players early

I’m just thinking about the Premiership scouting departments that seem to let this young man slip away to Italy for £1.5 and just months later bids are 15 to 20 times more.
