Report: Hammers make goalkeeper enquiry

West Ham are interested in a deal to sign Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski this summer, according to a new report.

  1. We know that the Hammers will eventually be in the market for a new stopper this summer to provide back-up to the ever-dependable Lukasz Fabianski.

Viola News, via Sport Witness, claims that the Hammers have joined Southampton in the race to sign the 23-year-old in the summer transfer window.

Dragowski has emerged as Fiorentina’s first-choice stopper this season, making 36 appearances in Serie A, and keeping eight clean sheets in total as they finished 13th.

Tottenham and Wolves are also said to hold an interest in signing the Poland international, who has won one cap for his country, and they are all said to have asked for information about the stopper.

That would likely be to gauge his availability this summer and, to that end, Fiorentina are already on the lookout for replacements; Juventus’ Mattia Perin appears to be at the top of the list.

Dragowski has a contract until 2023 and is valued at £14.4m by Transfermarkt.

  1. I was amazed by this kid at Bologna on loan he made some unbelievable saves against bug teams & players Like Inter & Persic from range others close… Doubles too good with feet saves. Quick reactions. He wouldn’t be bad if price is right imo but I have to say again I really rate Freddie Woodman & it seems Newcastle are willing to let go. At Arsenal he will become another Fabianski wait fever or Szczesny both keeper they could of used. Though Swansea didn’t come up he was immense even in last game, he can play out solid distribution, he commands his area so well, very good shot stopper gets crosses, organises. Well rounded did very good at Coventry then 2 seasons at Swansea better then Johnstone imo all around. At 24 an English imo should be in England squad over Ramsdale. Next season he could slot games with Fabianski then takeover be our keeper for years then his value would rise too.
Surprised Moyes isn’t interested in him with take of lover leagues 2 seaosns in Championship 80+ games only 73 let in 35 clean sheets & 20 last season with Golden Glove. Newcastle are willing to give him & money for Willock so he could be available for same price £10-15m which be a deal imo especially when you see how much Ramsdale went for. Plus he would probably fancy the move here & like his chances of learning under Fab & making England squad
