Report: Hammers make late enquiry for PSG player

|

West Ham have made a late enquiry to sign of Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint Germain, according to reports from France.

Journalist Dave Appadoo is claiming the Hammers a late loan swoop with the French media saying PSG wouldn’t mind seeing the midfielder leave in the January transfer window.

Sunday evening saw claims from France that Newcastle United had made an approach to sign the PSG player. Reports claim Gueye would be against the move, although the former Everton player would be tempted about a return to the Premier League at some point. Monday’s edition of L’Equipe further underlined that, insisting Gueye didn’t want to sign for the Magpies, had made his final decision, and would instead be likely to remain in Paris for the rest of the current season, then deciding his future in the summer window.

The Senegalese footballer plays as a defensive midfielder for French Ligue 1 club and the Senegal national team so if true would be presumably cover for Soucek and Rice
