A Eurosport report suggests that West Ham still hold an interest in James Tarkowski but David Moyes appears to have all but ruled out moves for big named players in January.
Eurosport says there are plenty of clubs looking shaky in defence this season and Burnley defender James Tarkowski is beginning to emerge as an interesting player that could be on the move in January. He is not entertaining talks over a renewed contract at Turf Moor at the moment and with 18 months remaining on the current deal, other clubs are paying close attention.
They add that the 28 -year-old is already of interest to West Ham and Leicester City but it is felt there are a couple of other top-half clubs also keen.
Yesterday the manager said “As far as January goes, we don’t have any big intentions of making signings, but the owners have said they would help if we need it”
Agree that we just don’t have the money even if we have the desire. We couldn’t afford to bid 50m previously and we’ve spent some since then. If he moves it will be to a club with more folding than us at present I think. With our youngsters coming through and the recent 22 year old signing, I’m more interested in internal continuity.
He will not leave in January. Burnley, by some miracle won, and his value increases as they move up the table. An amazing player, but not in our budget. Daze has it right.
It we had that kind of money I think we would be better spending it on a striker and LB but I doubt we have the cash.
