A French media report by Le10 Sport suggests that West Ham will re-open negotiations with Lille in attempt to land Ibrahim Amadou this summer despite stiff competition from Brighton.
The Hammers had a loan offer in January rejected by Lille for a defensive midfielder. The Hammers reportedly offered a loan fee worth £2m with an option to buy clause worth a further £14m.
Amadou is valued at about £20m but Lille’s financial problems mean they could sell for less. The Ligue 1 side need to raise €25m to avoid potential relegation to Ligue 2 for breaking French financial fair play rules.
Moyes himself admitted interest after the winter transfer window closed saying “We pushed hard to bring in midfielder Ibrahim Amadou on loan from Lille late in the day but we could not get it over the line before time ran out.”
Well we did only have a month. Why leave it till the last minute AGAIN?
