Report: Hammers to prepare bid for Baggies star

West Ham are preparing to submit a €22m offer  (£18.75m) for West Bromwich Albion midfielder Matheus Pereira, according to journalist Pedro Almeida.

David Moyes has been considering a move for the 25-year-old with Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard refusing to commit to a move back to West Ham.

Ole Gunnar Solskjear’s claims his player wants to stay and fight for his place.

According to journalist Nayef Bin Abdullah, West Ham have already agreed on a deal worth £22 million for West Bromwich Albion’s Brazilian midfielder but we understand that claim remains premature. According to sources close to the player, West Ham is yet to make a formal move for the Baggies player so it is still in the early stages.

West Ham are not the only club interested in the attacking midfielder with Leciester City, Leeds United and RB Leipzig also reported as being interested in capturing the former Premier League player signature. The silky Brazilian fired 11 goals and laid on six assists marking an impressive debut season in the top flight.

  1. I dont know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but if Pereira is available for “up to” £22m (I’d assume probably somewhere around £18m + potential add ons) I think I’d actually rather sign him than Lingaard anyway. Looking decent in such a poor West Brom was not an easy thing to achieve last year.

Pereira, Arbeloa, and hopefully Abraham & Zouma would be a very good summer in my book. Hopefully Kral too but I think that position is less urgent given Noble, Lanzini, and Coventry. 1 more striker would be helpful if we can shift Yarmo out but its shaping up to be quite exciting. #DontGoToBed!

  2. Very surprised to read that we have yet to make a formal bid. I was hoping that we would have secured Pereira’s signing by now as he must surely be our primary target. Whilst negotiating with the current club, the agent and the player can be a protracted business, the fee of £22m that has been mentioned is not high for someone of his quality, so it would be good if West Ham would meet the valuation, if it is correct. All the time we are trying to drag the price down we are leaving the door open for a club with greater resources than ours to swoop.

  3. Just thinking about making a bid now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think they need a few more months to talk about it ..let’s not be hasty 🤣🤣🤣
