Report: Hammers tracking progress of Dynamo Kiev youngster

Fresh reports claim that West Ham are tracking the progress of the Dynamo Kiev youngster Mykola Shaparenko ahead of a summer swoop.

CaughtOffside.com claim Shaparenko could be on his way to England after scoring eight goals in 33 games last term.

The four-cap Ukraine international broke into the Kiev set-up in 2017 and has quickly gone from strength-to-strength, signing a contract keeping him at the side until 2023.

The report says West Ham are also said to be keen on Shaparenko, who is represented by the same agency as current Hammers winger Andriy Yarmolenko. Shaparenko, who is under contract with Kiev until 2023, has scored six goals and provided four assists in 23 Premier Liga appearances in the Ukraine.

The report of yet another attacking midfielder for the first team seems unlikely when a striker would be much more of a priority however Transfer Market value him at just €3.5m (£3.1m) which could make the 20-year-old a target for the Under 23’s squad in the Academy and one for the future at just a cheap price.
