Report: HUGE signing to replace Oggy?

By Gonzo

According to a report in the Sun, Hammers manager David Moyes has set his sights on a new defender this summer, with former Manchester United player Chris Smalling also being linked with a move to the London Stadium.

Angelo Ogbonna has recently confessed that he wants to extend his stay with West Ham beyond the end of the season, when his current deal expires, however no discussions have thus far been held, meaning a couple of new centre-back aquisitions could be required.

The Irons are reportedly ready to fight it out for giant defender Odilon Kossounou, who could be available for a summer switch, given that he has articulated his desire to leave Leverkusen.

The reports claim that Moyesie failed in a bid to loan the defender in the January window, but he still remains interested, with the Bundesliga club looking to receive £27m if they are going to agree to his sale.

  1. Augerd is the natural replacement for Oggy. Why do we need another left footer?

  2. I agree robg07 Augerd is the perfect left side CB and I would be happy to give Oggy a one year contract to shadow him next year. Then we could go for a Zouma competitor.

  3. Squad competition, nothing more
