Report: Iron on his way out

It comes as no surprise to learn that Nathan |Holland could be on his way out of West Ham permanently.

ClaretandHugh wrote in a recent story that this was the likely scenario for a player who has been only on the edge of the first team squad for a couple of seasons.

The 23 year old has battled against injuries over the last two or three years and has been unable to force his way into the first team squad on a permanent basis.

And – as was widely expected – he is now likely to be returning to Oxford according to ExWHUemployee.

It seemsĀ  unlikely the same fate will visit Conor Coventry however who has been in outstanding form during pre-season after a loan spell with Lincoln last season where he managed seven games.

Holland’s injury issues appear to have been the major problem for a player who was once seen as the a huge prospect for the Irons.

He arrived from Everton in 2016 but has managed just two first team appearanaces and last term saw action in 10 Oxford games for two goals.

He has also been capped for England ay under 16, 17, 18 and 19 levels.

  1. This news would’ve been unthinkable a couple of years ago, but possibly mainly due to injury, he hasn’t kicked on. I remember that he was rated a much better prospect than Grady, but Grady seized the chance, whereas Nathan stalled. I wish him the very best for the future and hope the move reignites his talent.
