Report: Irons battling for PL ace

West Ham are not the only club trying to sign Armando Broja from Southampton this summer, according to a new report.

The Daily Mail claims that the Hammers are being joined by Newcastle, Everton, Napoli and Inter Milan in hunting for the centre-forward, who spent last season on loan at Southampton.

Broja is currently under contract at Chelsea but it remains to be seen if the club intend to give him a chance this season.

We have confirmed previously that Hammers boss David Moyes is a big fan of the Albania international and believes he could be a cost-effective signing as he looks to bolster his forward line.

West Ham believe he would cost around £25m.

Broja scored nine goals at Southampton this season and the Saints are also likely to be trying to bring him in permanently.

The striker has only made one senior appearance for Chelsea and he is set to be given the chance to play throughout pre-season, although it isn’t clear if they intend to give him a shot.
