Report: Irons can finally land long-term target

West Ham may finally be able to secure a deal to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina this summer, according to a new report.

Milenkovic has long been touted as a target for the Irons and was heavily linked a year ago, before eventually signing a new contract with the Italian club.

That only runs until 2023, though, meaning that there could be another big opportunity for the Hammers to secure his signature when the summer window opens.

Corriere Fiorentino now reports that the extension was only designed as a stop-gap, and to prevent him from leaving for nothing at the end of his deal, which was set to expire in 2022.

As a result, there is a belief that he could be on the move at the end of the season, with the Irons and Inter Milan both said to be monitoring his situation.

Milenkovic has made 30 appearances this season, even weighing in with three goals.
